New Delhi, Nov 28 (ANI): Indian TV channel NDTV, which is in the process of being acquired by private investment firm Vedanta Capital, is to be sold to the private equity group for a hefty $300m, sources said on Thursday.
NDTV is one of the most popular channels in the country and is widely watched in India, a country where the government is trying to diversify the entertainment market.
The sale is expected to close by the end of November.
NDtv has a market value of around $3 billion, and is one the largest in India with more than 1,500 channels.
NDVI also broadcasts on a variety of platforms, including television, radio, digital video recorder, internet and mobile phone.
NDIV is a popular channel for Indians who prefer their news to be delivered by a variety and different channels.
Its ratings have been very strong for the last few years, making it a popular choice for many Indian households.
